Korean Traditional Hanji Art Workshop

Hanji, a traditional Korean paper, is made from the inner bark of mulberry trees native to Korea. It is known for its durability, flexibility, and ability to transmit light.
In One-Day Workshop, you will create a traditional Korean Hanji craft. Through bleaching and creasing techniques, you will be able to experience the unique characteristics of Hanji.
Participants Works
In the Hanji-Geurim workshop, you create artwork by tearing and layering dyed Hanji paper instead of using pigments.
Through this process, you learn about the unique properties of Hanji, and by shining light on your finished piece, you can see how light passes through the paper.
After completing the Two-day Hanji-Geurim workshop, you can also sign up for private lessons to explore advanced techniques, such as dyeing Hanji with pigments, painting directly on Hanji paper, and utilizing mulberry fiber.
